Bitter Sweet

That's right, count them 1,2,3,4 kids all in school. School started last Monday the 24th for all of my boys. They are having a great time. They have great teachers and Taylor got to start the 8th grade in a brand new school that is soooo awesome. Benji gets to go all day this year and he loves it. Brendan has alot of friends in his class and really likes his teacher. Matilyn, who started Kindergarten, had to wait until today.

We spent the morning running errands and volunteering in Benji's class. She was so excited to get home so she could get ready for school. She was so excited she could hardly eat her lunch. The time came and I took her to school. I waited on the playground with her until her teacher came out to line up the class to take them into the building. I waved goodbye and went home.

Two weeks ago I had a 3 page list of things I wanted to do and could do with everyone gone. Today, just 2 hours after dropping Mati off, I find myself sitting, wondering what to do. I have no one here needing me to dress polly pockets or Barbies, no one needing me to help them get something out of the closet, no one wanting to help me make the treat for family home evening, no one asking me hundreds of questions. I can't seem to get anything done with no one here.

The time goes so fast. For those of you reading this and wishing you could have 5 minutes to yourself, enjoy every single second that your kids are underfoot, because they will turn 5 and be off to school and then you will be wishing like me that they were all little again, needing you to help them and wanting you to read to them, and play with them.

As I start this new phase of my life, I hope that I can find balance and enjoy it, because today has been very bitter sweet.

I miss my kids too. Back to School is always bitter-sweet. Now go find your list and have at it. :) *hugs*

I don't know K,
I think Lindsay will be ready to have some time to herself. I think half the time she wants to pull her hair out
